Engaged Learning offers a collection of resources for promoting student learning in community engagement and study abroad courses. Whether you are planning a new course or wish to update an existing course, you will find helpful materials for designing and assessing learning experiences and community partnerships.

The materials have been developed by faculty for faculty at the University of Virginia and beyond. We seek to continuously expand the collection and encourage you to share your syllabus as well as exemplary learning activities and assessments by emailing us at communitypartners at virginia.edu

How can I access the resources?
These resources can be viewed by Assignments (i.e. journal assignment, course assessment survey, etc.) or by Learning Goals (i.e. intercultural learning, civic engagement, etc.). The resource entries offer a brief description and lead you to either a .pdf or .docx file or to an external website.

How do I cite resources?
All document resources are credited with the name of the developer, their rank, and department. Web resources are credited with their institution. As a professional courtesy, please give appropriate credit to the developer when distributing these resources or adaptations of these resources.

How can I add resources?
The resources represent a foundation that we hope will grow as more people contribute their knowledge and expertise. If you have materials you would like to contribute to this site, please contact: communitypartners at virginia.edu
