Viewing America has touched on many of the themes relating to domestic issues in the U.S. in the 1970s and 1980s.  To supplement this, we chose to use the 1980 Olympic Boycott as a symbol of U.S.-U.S.S.R. relations in the later decades of the course.  Moreover, we then described the cultural effects of the boycott on the home front, focusing specifically on the reactions to the blatant politicism of athletes and athletics.
