Kappa Rho

The Kappa Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on Saturday, September 29, 1973. As the first African American sorority on the Grounds of the University of Virginia, our 15 Outstanding Charter Members pioneered a vision and legacy to last generations. Chartered amidst great social change here at the University, our chapter took a stance as an active role model for women and African Americans throughout the community by achieving excellence. With a herstory of overĀ 40 years of service and over 300 chapter initiates, the Kappa Rho Chapter continues to strengthen the University of Virginia community by achieving excellence through love for self, service, scholarship, and true sisterhood.
