Dr. Jennifer Chiu is an Assistant Professor in the Curry School of Education whose research focuses on designing learning technologies improving STEM education.

Title: Physical and Virtual Manipulatives in Engineering Education
Physical and virtual manipulatives, or objects that students use to learn, each have unique affordances for learning engineering concepts. This talk provides an overview of a series of studies and projects that seek to understand how various physical (tangible in the real world), virtual (existing in computer software), and mixed-reality (connected physical and virtual) technologies can benefit STEM education.

The presentation will start at 5 PM with a question and answer discussion to follow. Food and drinks will be provided.

Hope to see you all there!
