A new paper from our group looks at the role algae-mediated treatment could play in reducing resistance to antibiotics. This approach could suppress antibiotic resistance in microbial communities downstream of wastewater treatment plants. The full paper is available at this link.

Jasmin attends IEAGHG CCS summer school
Our lab’s Graduate student Jasmin Melara attended the 13th IEAGHG Summer School on carbon capture and storage, organized at Regina, Canada during July 7-12, 2019. She was selected as part of a competitive application process and interacted with key experts on low-carbon energy systems. Jasmin also presented a poster titled, “A Spatially explicit environmental life-cycle assessment of aquatic bioenergy with carbon capture and storage” which was well-received by fellow participants.
