ESE Photo Event and Mixer

After the fusion of the Civil and Systems Departments, the new Engineering Systems and Environment Department sponsored a new photo ID event for all 200 graduate students. This fun photo mixer event allowed students to take solo Polaroid headshots and some with new and old friends. Our own Jasmin Melara coordinated the event and helped foster community among graduate students in the new department. Check out the photos along D wing next to civil commons D204!

Ambio paper published

A new paper on “Water–energy sustainability synergies and health benefits as means to motivate potable reuse of coalbed methane-produced waters” has been published in Ambio, a journal published by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The paper seeks to analyze a confluence of socio-technical factors and how they could yield a unique form of industrial ecology in coalfield areas. The full paper can be found here.
