Welcome!

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Virginia brings together people from various backgrounds who share a common interest in learning and intellectual stimulation.  Formed in association with the University of Virginia in 2001 as the Jefferson Institute for Lifelong Learning (JILL), the Institute was inspired by Thomas Jefferson’s own deeply-held belief in, and practice of, education as a lifelong enterprise which invigorates the mind and enriches life.

OLLI at UVa to Hire an Executive Director

We are very excited to share with you our plans to hire an Executive Director. While volunteers founded OLLI at UVa and have and will continue to play a critical role in its operations, our Board and the Osher Foundation recognize that our growth and its accompanying complexity require us to transition to a more permanent position responsible for day-to-day operations.

The job description and application process are on our website, click here, and applications are now being accepted. The application review process will begin in May.  We would appreciate your help in passing the word to friends and acquaintances who might be interested.

Joan Kammire, President
